LED/Backlight & FPD Component Research Analyst

DisplaySearch is seeking an analyst to cover LCD backlight and films, and LCD cost structure by component and to support research in light emitting diodes (LEDs) , including reports, consulting and conferences.
LED/Backlight & FPD Component Research Analyst

Responsibilities
Lead and write a quarterly report on LED/CCFL backlights and backlight optical films and collect data, forecast, and update the database as required.
Contribute to FPD panel cost and component related reports including glass substrate, color filters, polarizer, backlight, driver IC, liquid crystal and others.
Be the focal point for market and technical information on backlight units and LEDs.
Perform technical analysis and conduct consulting projects for customers with other team-members globally.
Conduct research on LED supply chain and LED-backlit large area TFT LCD panels.
Contribute to the knowledge and market intelligence of the LED industry.
Speak with customers on technical and market trends of LEDs and backlight units.
Speak at DisplaySearch global conferences.
Qualifications
Must be able to understand the needs of clients, and to design reports and databases that are marketable to the industry and will have a strong view of the future, being able to differentiate between the capabilities of the incumbent technologies with the advantages of new lighting technologies.
5+ years working in the field.
Must demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret data. A working understanding of Excel is required.
Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills.
Should possess a university degree; engineering or business degree desirable.
Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and to manage time and have a proactive approach to work.
Successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English, based on experience and/or language skills.
